How to remove a background

  1. Add your photo. Upload a file, drag it onto the page or paste a copied image. People, pets, products, cars and everyday objects all work.
  2. The background disappears automatically. An AI model running inside your browser finds the main subject and removes everything else, usually in a few seconds.
  3. Edit if you like, then download. Keep it transparent or pick a background color, make it square, round the corners, crop, resize, and download a PNG (or a JPG with a solid background) at full resolution.

Frequently asked questions

Is EasyCutout really free?

Yes. There is no account, watermark, credit system or paid tier, and downloads are full resolution. Because the processing happens on your device, it costs us very little to run. The site may show ads in the future to cover its costs.

Is EasyCutout an alternative to remove.bg?

Yes. It does the same job: add a photo and download a transparent PNG, free and in full resolution, without an account. It doesn’t offer an API or bulk processing. How it compares.

How do I change the background color?

After the background is removed, open the Background tab under the image and pick a color, or choose any color with the color picker. Pick the checkered swatch to go back to transparent.

Can I crop or resize the result?

Yes. The Crop tab offers free cropping and common shapes like 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9, plus “Fit to subject”. The Resize tab sets the output size in pixels. Edits never damage the cut-out, so you can change or reset them at any time.

Can I make a square image or round the corners?

Yes. The Square tab makes your image square without cutting anything off, either around the whole image or around the subject, with an adjustable margin. The Corners tab rounds the corners, all the way to a circle. To keep your photo’s own background, choose “Original background” in the Background tab first.

What does “Redo removal” do?

It runs the AI again. After you crop, it only looks at the cropped area, so the subject fills more of the AI’s view and edges often come out finer.

Where is my history stored?

In your browser’s storage on this device only, so you can download or edit recent images again later. It is never uploaded. Use “Clear all” or delete single images at any time; clearing your browser’s site data removes them too.

Why is the first image slower?

The first time, your browser downloads the AI model (about 100 MB). It is saved in your browser, so later images start almost instantly, even when you come back another day.

What file types can I use?

JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF work in all modern browsers. HEIC photos from iPhones work in Safari; in other browsers, export or share the photo as JPG first. You can download a transparent PNG, or a JPG when you choose a background color.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, on recent iPhones and Android phones. Older or low-memory phones may be slower or run out of memory; if that happens, try a smaller photo or a computer.

Can I use the result commercially?

Yes. EasyCutout claims no rights over your images or results. You are responsible for having the rights to the photos you edit.
